Welcome to the Boston Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city.
Participate in community-based collaborative art experiences this summer along the meandering harbor, culminating in an all-inclusive public exhibit in “A Street” Park in South Boston. AFH will use the power of art and design to build community, spawn conversation around the issues affecting the waterfront, and have fun moments in known and less known places around the harbor! This creative placemaking series of 10 large scale 36”x80” paintings will be made by local residents from Boston’s neighborhoods working alongside AFH teen artists and mentors, who serve as co-creators and facilitators. The culminating exhibit will bring these varied perspectives together in a celebration that both highlights community participation in the creative process as well as the harbor issues that are important to us all. Artists For Humanity (AFH)'s mission is to bridge economic, racial, and social divisions by providing under-resourced urban youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design. AFH is but one of a larger consortium of organizations working to increase access to and sustain Boston's beautiful waterfront.
