12 September - 17 September
Venue: Boston Architectural College, McCormick Gallery
320 Newbury Street

A traveling photographic exhibit of landscape architect Lawrence Halprin work is coming to the Boston Architectural College from September 12 - November 17, 2018.

The exhibit was previously on display at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The exhibit chronicles Halprin's life and work and was created in recognition of his 100th birthday.

Halprin was among the foremost landscape architects of the twentieth century. His prolific career spanned more than five decades, with highlights that include the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial (Washington, D.C.), Freeway Park (Seattle, WA), and the Portland Open Space Sequence (Portland, OR). His firm was a seedbed for many talented designers now celebrated in their own right, and the innovative techniques he pioneered changed the field of landscape architecture forever.

The exhibition will feature newly commissioned contemporary photographs of Halprin's work. This traveling photographic exhibition is curated by The Cultural Landscape Foundation.
