Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
Great British Buildings gives you an exclusive look at some of the this year’s RIBA award winning buildings in London. Join the architect for a one off architectural tour as they reveal the stories behind the building, what inspired them and what makes their building an RIBA Award winner.
As part of this series of events showcasing 2018's Award winners, we will tour Knox Bhavan Architects, a former stationery shop in Peckham, lovingly converted to house the practice.
The building was described by the jury panel during the RIBA Awards process as:
‘Absolutely every aspect of this office design has been thought through with exquisite craftsmanship and detailing. Passers-by are delighted and intrigued by the large concrete framed bay window which houses the shop-window façade. Every millimeter of space on this small rectangular site has been carefully designed so it works hard and is used effectively.’
