Hanif Kara - Bartlett International Lecture Series

21 November 18:30 - 20:00
Organized by: The Bartlett School of Architecture
22 Gordon Street
Disciplinary Appropriation

Through a set of built examples and experiments, this lecture will show a ‘binding’ from the lens of a structural engineer who is unashamedly interested in interdisciplinary discourse through disciplinary appropriation across boundaries of technology, geographies and scales without becoming the other.

Hanif's argument will take a more comprehensive interpretation of design that is particular to AKT II, whilst demonstrating that technology has undoubtedly provided a freer movement between design and fabrication, education and practice.

The Bartlett International Lecture Series (ILS) welcomes experts, visionaries and skilled professionals from across the world to share ideas and give invaluable insight.

Each lecture is free and open to all Bartlett students, staff and colleagues from across UCL as well as the public.

Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-seated basis.
