Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
This afternoon event will give an exclusive opportunity to tour RIBA Manser Medal Winner Gap House with architect/owner Luke Tozer of Pitman Tozer Architects.
With an entrance just 8ft wide, this house is ingeniously slotted into an unpromising plot in Bayswater Conservation Area to create a comfortable and airy four-storey family home that makes a virtue of its constrained site.
The house incorporates a number of green strategies to minimize its carbon footprint and uses approximately one third of the energy of a new house built to the current Building Regulations.
This family home proves that sustainable architecture is achievable without compromise on the tightest of urban sites.
Each tour duration 1 hour. Limited places, cost £35.50 with complimentary bellini cocktails and nibbles.
