Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
A fun packed family day out with a tour of the Forest of Fabrication exhibition, a woodcutting workshop and the Store Street Spring Market.
Forest of Fabrication exhibition tour, 11am - 12pm
Join dRMM director Alex de Rijke for our Saturday guided tour. The conversation will focus around the studio’s approach to using the minimum amount of material to achieve maximum effect. Projects featured include dRMM’s Stirling Prize-winning project, Hasting Pier, and proposal to build a 36-storey interlocking CLT tower.
Registration is free but spaces are limited. Please book to avoid disappointment.
Woodcutting and printing workshop, 1pm - 4pm
Join artist and printmaker Alex Booker for an exciting day of woodcut printing to coincide with Forest of Fabrication - dRMM: pioneers of timber architecture. In response to this brilliant show, we'd love you to make your own timber inspired prints; it could be your favourite project, designer, concept or final construction from the show. With Japanese Shina blocks, Alex will teach you this ancient medium by using traditional Japanese wood cutting tools and printing by hand your own unique designs. This activity is available to 10+ years old. All materials will be provided.
