Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
Join the RIBA South East London Architects Group for a building tour of Mountview Academy in Peckham, led by Carl Turner and Kyle Gudsell of Carl Turner Architects.
Located behind the Stirling Prize winning Peckham Library, Carl Turner Architects have recently completed the new home for Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in central Peckham. A £21 million 10,200 sqm purpose-built education facility conceived as a ‘Warehouse for the Arts’, consisting of two interlocking buildings that provide both the public and private spaces.
The cor-ten steel clad Studio Block is arranged around a central ‘street’ atrium space, and the black brick clad Theatre Block has a theatre at its heart, as well as a set building workshop, and rooftop restaurant/bar with panoramic views across London.
Arrival from 6.30 pm, with the tour starting shortly afterwards. The tour will be split into two groups to allow more people to attend, but please note that places are limited, and registration is essential.
