Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
Hosted in London's Hippodrome Casino and inspired by classic postmodern text by Robert Venturi, Denise Scott Brown, and Steven Izenour, Learning from Las Vegas In London presents an evening of symbolism, ornament and excess. This event will unravel the boundaries of taste, set in the heart of the capital, featuring talks, performances and films that will explore the book's legacy and London's aesthetics and architecture. Key curators, architects, designers and academics will examine our love affair with postmodernism and its origins in a city that has become an international symbol of extravagance.
The event will feature contributions from:
Owen Hopkins, Sir John Soane's Museum
The Venturi, Scott Brown Collection
Adam Nathaniel Furman
