Concrete and Cocktails National Theatre

13 June 19:00 - 20:35
Organized by: National Theatre
Venue: , National Theatre
Upper Ground

If you like your concrete ‘raw’ and your cocktails dry come and join us on one of our new 'Concrete & Cocktails' evening events that explore the history and design of the National Theatre’s distinctive architecture, starting with a pre-tour drink at Terrace Restaurant.

Like or loathe Lasdun’s modernist masterpiece, the NT's cultural importance as a major public building by a leading architect was recognised when it became one of the youngest buildings to be listed in 1994 - less than 20 years after it opened. This 75-minute 'Concrete & Cocktails' tour will take you inside and out to discover the story behind this iconic building, including Stirling Prize-winning architects Haworth Tompkins' refresh of the building in 2013.
