RIBA London's Autumn series of Practice Clinics aim to provide support for small practices on a range of topics, tackling tricky questions, problems and dilemmas with a panel of experts.

 

The event will be interactive, allowing for attendees to pose questions to the panel and offer their own advice and experience.

 

The format is simple, if you have a hit a hurdle with a planning issue or problem this event will aim to solve it. Submit your question when you book your ticket and we will put it to our experts and your peers to discuss.

 

The Panel: 

 

Anna Thompson ADL

Anna is an experienced Chartered planning professional specialising in development management. Prior to setting up her own consultancy in 2013, Anna worked in various roles in Local Authorities rising to a management role at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Through these roles, Anna has a keen understanding of the inner workings of Council planning departments which has proved invaluable in securing consents for her many clients. Since creating ADL Planning, Anna has been involved in a rich variety of projects throughout the country with a particular focus on central London. ADL’s clients range from private individuals, national and international businesses, property developers and architectural firms. ADL Planning advise on all manner of planning issues from pre-purchase site appraisals through to appeals and CIL liability.

 

Will Lingard CBRE 

Will has over 20 years experience of negotiating planning consents for complex redevelopment projects throughout London. Will’s background in both the public and private sectors, having worked in planning consultancy and in a senior position at Westminster Council, gives him an insight to both sides of the development process.  His training has been heavily design focussed and after a planning degree Will completed a Masters in Historic Building Conservation.  He later established the South East Regional Design Panel to improve the quality of major planning applications in the region which is still running some 15 years later.   He is known for his open style of negotiating and has successfully mediated between many competing interests between clients, officers and local stakeholders. Most recently, he has taken a particular interest in representing a variety of parties at both the New Draft London Plan Examination and also the Westminster Draft City Plan.
