19 March 18:30 - 20:30
Organized by: The London Society
Allies and Morrison
85 Southwark Street

What is the role of public art and the public artist in 2020? Can public art improve the public realm, create a sense of place, represent culture?

In the midst of the recent election, and with Brexit on the horizon, these are unusual times. This panel discussion will discuss public art in 2020 from a variety of perspectives, examining the role of the artist, the logistics of the commissioning process, the role of art in placemaking, and the challenges of working with a variety of organisations and stakeholders to install a piece of public art.

The panel discussion, chaired by Director of the Royal Society of Sculptors Caroline Worthington, will include artist Conrad Shawcross RA and Bill Price, Director, WSP.
