Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
Dance artist and choreographer Fernanda Muñoz-Newsome leads this Doing Day working from practice developed for her current work INCHOATE BUZZ. Participants are invited to enter a sensorial environment of soft sculptured objects created by her collaborator, visual artist India Harvey, where participants will explore dropping into imagination and sensation, proximity and distance, connections with others and our surrounding environment.
Fernanda’s practice creates soft, sensory spaces informed by research and experience of neurodiversity, shifting into the unknown through our senses. She is interested in the effects of Autonomous Sensory Merdian Response (ASMR), a tingling sensation under the skin that can be triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli. Fernanda is also interested in creating relaxed environments for audiences, deconstructing the usual formal seated set up.
In this Doing Day, participants will work with dancing, sounding, writing and drawing.
