Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
Studio Gil and Carnaval del Pueblo Association have been working in a fruitful partnership on a variety of projects involving the Latin American community in the Elephant and Castle area. We propose to create a lens that magnifies the good work achieved, by opening our shared offices to the public, mounting an exhibition showcasing the projects that Studio Gil + Carnaval del Pueblo have generated, and curating Live Project installations by University of Brighton architecture students in East Street Market.
The projects generated by Studio Gil and Carnaval del Pueblo include Plaza Latina 2015, Plaza Latina 2016, Elephant Road public realm, Carnaval del Pueblo HQ in East Street - the redevelopment of 3 vacant Peabody shops into a new Community Hub, and Live Project installations conceived for the Carnaval designed and manufactured by University of Brighton Studio 55 architecture students to be sited and enjoyed in East Street market.
