Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
In this exhibition Mikhail Riches will share stories about recently commissioned housing projects, including: the second phase of the refurbishment of Park Hill in Sheffield and a row of townhouses within the redevelopment of BBC Television Centre in White City.
Mikhail Riches’ architecture is guided by in-depth investigation of the conditions of a site and the lives of the people that will use it. Understanding 'the story of the project' plays an important role in the practice’s design process, creating insights into the effect of architectural decisions on the imagined uses and users of a building, as well as the surrounding community.
The exhibition will explore the stories the practice has used to generate and communicate its design solutions. Examples from Mikhail Riches’ studio work will sit alongside a recreation of the wall graphics created within one of the flats at Park Hill as part of the practice’s competition-winning bid for the project.
Open to the public Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th & Thursday 30th June: 10am - 6pm
