Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
The Brutalist landmarks of central London are now well known and (in some cases) almost well liked. Their counterparts in the eastern boroughs are less familiar – but no less impressive. This tour looks at some of the best that the City, Hackney and Tower Hamlets have to offer in terms of stained concrete and sublime ugliness. Lovely!
Led by expert architectural guide David Garrard, this tour takes in important works by mid century architects including Erno Goldfinger, Alison & Peter Smithson and Denys Lasdun.
Meet: 10am Charterhouse Square EC1M. Duration: 2.5 hours approx. Tour ends in Poplar E14. You MUST bring your own bike. For competent cyclists. Cost: £25.50
