Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
One of the topics that Architecture for Humanity London has chosen to focus on in our work this year is 'Displacement' - including the ongoing displacement of communities within London.
For our May Meetup, we are inviting three organisations working with such communities to talk to us about their work.
Nick Edwards, Fundamental Architectural Inclusion (http://www.fundamental.uk.net/). His organisation has been reaching out to young people in East London, an area of rapid change.Tara Cranswick of V22 (http://www.v22collection.com/about/), has been fighting to keep artist communities alive and well in the capital despite rising property prices.Dan Barron, PEACH (The People's Empowerment Alliance for Custom Househttp://peache16.wixsite.com/peach). This community movement has been contending with plans for the redevelopment of their area.
The event will be an informal and fun way of to meet Architecture for Humanity volunteers and likeminded people. Refreshments will be provided.
