I Spy with my Disguise… 10am to 4pm
Taking inspiration from the Periscopic Pavillion, make your own periscope that you can use to explore the RIBA building. Decorate it so that it will blend into the surroundings of the RIBA interiors for the ultimate disguise.Florence Hall
I Am Architecture, 10am to 4pm
If you were a building, what would be your unique selling point? Use your imagination and the 'Beyond Borders' installation as inspiration to design and make your own architectural outfit from recycled materials (feel free to bring your own materials). Throughout the day you can wear your outfits to take part in various activities:
Express Yourself, 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm
Can you walk the walk? Then strut your stuff with your architectural outfits on our Architectural Catwalk and be the trendsetter of the London Skyline. There will be a prize for the best dressed!
Living Landscapes, 11.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm
Wear your outfits and join our Living Skyline to design a collective metropolis. Throughout the day we will be mapping a new city. Decide which building should go where, connect them with bridges, join them with roads and create green spaces for people to come together.
Let's play Games! 12pm, 1.30pm, 3pm
Join us in a game of architectural draughts and see which building is the last one standing. The winner of each game will get a prize!
Inhabiting Bodies, 10am to 4pm.
We experience different types of physical and mental borders and boundaries through our bodies. This drawing activity brings a playful approach to the idea of the body as a structure that we inhabit and negotiate. Families will draw an outline around their bodies onto paper, which can be filled with utopian living spaces. The life-sized drawings will form a temporary exhibition and can also be used as a costume for activities in Florence hall.First Floor Terrace
Inside, Outside, Upside Down, 10am to 4pm
Travel Beyond the Borders of the RIBA and escape to North and South America to learn about the history of Piñatas. Learn techniques to decorate them before creating your own Piñata of a building.Aston Webb
Stories Around the City, 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm
Join us for story-time when we will hear all about how a little boy decided to share his cardboard house. Where do you feel most at home? Share your ideas and stories in this fun drop-in workshop that interlinks storytelling with a practical art activity. Every building has a story, how can we build a new story together?Lutyens Room
