London’s Towns PechaKucha

21 November 18:00 - 20:30
Organized by: New London Architecture
The Building Centre
26 Store Street

As part of the new NLA Insight Study ‘London’s Towns: Shaping the polycentric city’, this evening event will see quickfire presentations about the most recent projects  and initiatives in London’s outer urban centres.  The format, Pecha Kucha (??????), was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by the English architect Mark Dytham and has turned into a massive global celebration of design, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. The format makes presentations concise, keeps things moving at a rapid pace and holds its audience.  Taking place during the exhibition London’s Towns: Shaping the polycentric city, this event is part of NLA’s London Boroughs programme.
