Outer London Station Sites

01 December 08:30 - 09:30
Organized by: New London Architecture
The Building Centre
26 Store Street

How can we unlock the potential of station sites in supporting growth? Hear the key ideas from our Next Gen Charrette teams, introduced by TfL’s Commercial Development Director Graeme Craig.

This breakfast talk explores the findings from our major design charrette, organised as part of the London’s Towns research, which brought together young professionals to explore future visions for the development of five TfL station sites in outer London – Barking Town Centre, Burnt Oak, Morden, South Harrow and Turnpike Lane. Each multi-disciplinary team produced an innovative, blue-sky thinking, site specific proposal to demonstrate the potential for town centre station sites across the city.

What interventions could we make to fully utilise these important sites? How can design fulfill both their complex requirements and also their future role in supporting the capital’s growth for housing, workspace, retail, leisure and culture?
