Welcome to the London Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city, brought to you by New London Architecture.
London’s Estates, a complex network of ‘little villages’ spread across the city have made it unique among global cities. The long term approach to placemaking, regeneration and management allow London’s Estates to evolve, develop and reinvent themselves in response to changing demands and uncertain economic climates.5 years on from NLA’s major Insight Study ‘The Great Estates - How London’s landowners shape the city’ we explore how London’s historical estates are supporting London’s future growth through the provision of new homes, work spaces, culture and improved public realm. Hearing from a series of key figures, we examine plans for development across London’s major estates and lessons to learn for future long-term landowners across the city.
