Welcome to the New York Architecture Diary, your essential guide to architecture exhibitions and events taking place across the city.
Join Socrates Sculpture Park and The Architectural League for the unveiling of RRRolling Stones, the outdoor modular seating designs developed by HANNAH.
RRRolling Stones is a moveable outdoor seating system made from 3D-printed concrete printed at the Cornell Robotic Construction Laboratory in Ithaca, New York. Executed in layers of a special cement mixture reinforced with nylon fibers, the seats’ striated surfaces reveal their incremental manufacturing process.
At this evening’s opening reception, Leslie Lok and Sasa Zivkovic of HANNAH will discuss their design and moderate a live demonstration of the 3D printer’s operations on site at Socrates Sculpture Park. Following the demonstration, the Park presents its monthly Jazz Series with live jazz outdoors.
