CTBUH New York presents another part of our Future of Construction series, an event centered around innovative design and construction technology in the market today.


In partnership with FullStack Modular, we are presenting a new book by Prof. James Murray-Parkes, Science & Engineering Director at Multiplex Engineering Innovations Group, called 'A Modular Handbook' organizing all the information anyone needs to understand the working parts of a pre-fabricated project.


A panel discussion with leading professionals in the industry will be led by Kate Scott, RA currently Director of Special Projects at WeWork. She will be discussing modular construction with a few more experienced professionals around the city working on various pre-fabricated projects.


They are Isaac-Daniel Astrachan, AIA, LEED AP, Principal at Stephen B. Jacobs Group, Roger Krulak, CEO of FullStack Modular, Prof. James Murray-Parkes, Science & Engineering Director at Multiplex Engineering Innovations Group, and a colleague from Turner Construction yet to be confirmed.

James Murray-Parkes

Science & Engineering Director

Multiplex Engineering Innovations Group

James is the head of the Multiplex Engineering Innovations Group, a multidisciplinary team focused on the creation and optimisation of novel engineering solutions for building and engineering structures. James’ unique design capabilities have influenced over 800 projects in the construction, energy and defence sectors and he is widely regarded as a world leader in high load connection innovation and design. James was a founding member and instigator of the Modular Construction Codes Board and has played a pivotal role in the development of the Modular Construction Code and is a professor of practice in the Monash University Department of Civil Engineering.


Kate Scott, RADirector of Special Projects at WeWork

Kate Scott is an architect and urban planner dedicated to critical design practices and rethinking today's cities. She has more than 15 years of experience executing projects in Europe and North America, from multi-million dollar arts and educational facilities to private residences and flagship retail stores and offices. She worked as co-director at Bernard Tschumi Architects for seven years and as senior associate at HWKN, where she led an R&D team focused on the next generation of co-living.


Roger Krulak

CEO at Full Stack Modular LLC

With over 25 years in the construction industry, Roger has extensive experience on both the construction and development sides of the real estate business. Prior to starting FC Modular within Forest City Ratner Companies, Roger spent 12 years at Forest City Ratner Companies as SVP of Mixed Use and Residential Development, entitling and planning over 1,000 residential apartment units integrated into many of FCRC’s Retail projects.

In 2008 Roger spearheaded the first R&D project for Modular Construction which lead to The Creation of FC Modular and subsequently the creation of a factory and business to build the tallest volumetric modular building in the world.


Isaac-Daniel Astrachan, AIA, LEED AP

Principal at Stephen B. Jacobs Group

Mr. Astrachan has been with SBJGroup since 1998 when he started as the project manager for Hotel Giraffe. Since then he has worked on many different hospitality and residential projects, including 325 Fifth Avenue, Edge in Williamsburg, 200 Lafayette Street, and Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel. He is currently working on a 43-story residential tower in Long Island City, and on citizenM Bowery, the tallest modular hotel in the world. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Astrachan worked for Didier Repellin, Chief Architect and Inspector-General of historic monuments in France.

It will connect young members with established leaders within CTBUH to provide great mentorship and collaboration opportunities.
